Idyllic Heidelberg

The first day was planned to visit Heidelberg so many times suggested by my friends. It was indeed what I have expected. Though we could not find a traditional city centre with a square and coffee houses everywhere, my fondness for the city grew bigger with every hour. Walking through Hauptstrasse to Heidelberg Schloss you will see the traditional shops and tourists, but with every small street that crosses main street there appeared a view on the hills with castle-like architecture. To get to the castle on foot was a bit of a challenge that reminded me how much my body missed any physical excersise. The view from the castle on the city, municipal council, Necker and hills was really worthwhile. Within the castle we found a small winery with Bio-Energetic Wine, which made Uwe quite entertained when we where back to Ladenburg sharing the experience of the day. Necker River trip on solar boat is definitely a must. You can get a view of the castle and with the right weather all the expensive and so picturesque houses on the other side of the river makes you wonder why on Earth do you have to leave the place soon.
